Welcome to Kent Hazzard & Freeman
Kent Hazzard & Freeman was founded in 1934 and is one of the oldest and most recognized law firms in the County of Westchester.
We are committed to integrity, excellence and personalized service while providing the highest quality comprehensive legal services. We take the time to develop and foster helping, caring relationships that benefit our clients. We set ourselves apart by taking only a limited number of cases so that our clients receive the personal and proper attention they deserve.

James C. Freeman
Attorney at Law
James C. Freeman is a highly experienced civil litigator who has recovered millions of dollars for his clients. His personal injury and medical malpractice verdicts and settlements have been in the Millions and publicized in various media outlets.
Early on in his legal career, Mr. Freeman worked as an Assistant Westchester County Attorney from 1990-1995. Afterward, he represented physicians and hospitals at a well-respected Westchester defense firm. His experience on both sides of the aisle works to the benefit of all his current clients including his medical malpractice and personal injury plantiffs.
Mr. Freeman has been admitted to the practice of law for more than 30 years in the Second Judicial Department, as well as being admitted to both the United States District Court and United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. He is a member of the New York State Trial Lawyers Association and the New York State Bar Association. He is a Past Chairman of the Tort Law Committee and lecturer for the Westchester County Bar Associaton in the areas of Personal Injury and Medical Malpractice. He has been rated as a SUPERLAWYER from 2011 – present.

Paralegal
Christine Zicari is a college graduate who has been a paralegal for over fifteen years. She has been with Kent Hazzard & Freeman since 2009 working alongside clients to assist them during the entire process of their personal injury or medical malpractice action. Prior to that she worked for a large Manhattan firm primarily working on commercial real estate deals.
